yeah so what about people who argue that in order to appreciate the LOTR movies you have to have read the books, but then tell you that you can't apply the books to the movies in order to understand the movies better
I'd say you can appreciate the movies best if you haven't read the book. Then you don't know what a travesty is being commited.

People who do bad roleplay should be hung by their toes and lashed and then rolled in salt

should I name names?

I'd like to make room amongst the hanged ones for those who light up a cigarette in their flat and then pollute the air while walking through the long corridors on their way out. Thanks.

Oh, and Fred Phelps. Although I can think of something better to hang him by, than his toeses.

O yes, GM.
And as a physician who engages in smoking
I am labelled a/the chiefest of sinners
by the politically correct
who abhor cigarettes
whilst prefering a really nice
"rock'! and can gainfully discuss proper provenance
as it were a wine from France
not powder from Colombian ridges.

Go figure!

Jes my 2 cents worth; good for you. I personally think smokers have been beaten down enough with laws and such. Perhaps they'd like to have opium dens instead? Keep on enjoying life Inked; sincerely meant.

By all means, they are free to smoke in the privacy of their own homes and all. (See how generous I am?) Common areas in the building however.. I kinda like to be able to breathe, and them corridors are loong, man.. Yep. Up by the toes they go. *grabs wire*

The makers of all the anti-smoking adds. You know, the ones that paint smokers as evil sadist who only smoke to give others cancer.

But, WW, in all honesty, cigarettes don't produce that much smoke, even if you smoke the whole thing in the same place, and if they smoke part in the apartment, and then just continue smoking it while they go down the hall way, it's not that big of a deal. Anyway, the lingering scent of a cigarette is actually somewhat pleasant, though the actual smoking. And even if one finds it unpleasant, one can "breathe" regardless, and such things will not cause any serious lung cancer. Second-hand lung smoke causes cancer when one is exposed to it in a relatively concentrated degree over an extended period of time, not just hurrying down the hallway of the apartment building.

For the record, I don't smoke cigarettes; they aren't worth the trouble, IMO, and they aren't as nice as some of the other (and perfectly legal, of course! ) alternatives, i.e. pipe tobacco, hookah, and cigar.

I absolutely agree with you, Spock; the anti-smoking laws are simply ridiculous. Way too far, IMO. In some places, they're going so far as to illegalise public places where one goes to smoke, such as hookah bars. This is absolute and total bull. I mean, you could make a case for illegalising it in enclosed spaces, and a rather weaker case for illegalising it in open public spaces, but to illegalise places where you can smoke? It's absurd.

Actually, it can be.

True. But nothing beats the pleasantness of the lingering scent of my farts on pizza-night.

Lung cancer? Not a concern. I eat stuff that'll kill me before that. But why should I get a soar throat, itchy eyes and a headache because some jerk can't respect building rules, hmm? And no, I can't "breathe" regardless. I'm getting quite good at holding my breath over distances, actually. Yay me.

Ha, worms and dolls huh. Nope, haven't seen that one. Have you seen the one where there are a bunch of kids in a high school hall and the school starts filling up with smoke and one kid runs to the bathroom to, I guess, put water on his face and nothing but smoke comes out of the spicket? What a dumbass. The one's I hate are where they find some stupid kid to rant about smoking for 2 mins. One that comes to mind is some girl who "hates people that smoke outside the mall".

Up with her toes!
